NLC suspends strike

The Nigerian Labour Congress in press conference on Sunday afternoon suspends the current the strike five days after the it began.

The announcement was made by the National President of NLC Ayuba Wabba during a press conference which took place at Abuja on Sunday. 

Workers are to resume their respective offices come Tuesday following Monday public holiday to celebrate Independent day. "The suspension takes effect from today Sunday," he said. 

Although no agreement was reached but minister of labour and employment Chris Ngige assured that tripartite committee will reconvene to complete negotiation. 

"Before the meeting on October 4, all necessary demands by organised labour would have been factored in" he assured.
